I'm thrilled to share some exciting news with you... my original acrylic painting on canvas, “The Swallowtail and the Black Rat Snake,” has been selected for Images 2025, the juried fine art exhibition that runs alongside the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts in State College, PA.
Out of 346 works submitted, juror Richard Rinehart, Director of the Samek Art Museum at Bucknell University, selected just 47 for this year’s show. I’m deeply honored to be among the artists chosen for this exhibition.
About the Painting
If you've been following my work, you know how much symbolism I build into my pieces. The Swallowtail and the Black Rat Snake captures a moment of quiet power and transformation, drawing from the ecology of our region and the stories we tell about these often misunderstood creatures. This piece is part of my ongoing exploration of animal messengers, layered meanings, and the sacredness of the natural world.
When & Where to See the Show
Images 2025 will be on view at Schlow Centre Region Library in the heart of downtown State College from July 1–31, 2025. This beautifully curated space is right in the center of the Festival’s footprint, making it easy to visit while enjoying all the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts has to offer.
